About the Course
Make your own frame basket to take home using materials gathered on the beautiful Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve. Basket making is an ancient craft; on week one you will harvest the willow before learning how to create the framework of your basket using two hoops, binding them together using a God’s eye weave and adding in the ribs.
On week two you will be able to gather more willow along with additional suitable natural materials including ivy, larch and broom enabling you to complete your frame basket and leave with a finished piece. The cost of all the materials and use of the tools to make a basket is included in the cost of the course.
