About the Course
Two day open air painting weekend, run by Old Bank Studios, Harwich.
Join Roger Dellar for this full weekend Plein Air workshop and discover his process and techniques for creating an oil painting from start to finish, whilst working outside.
This workshop will cover what makes a successful composition, what to include and as importantly what to leave out of a picture. Roger will also share with you the ways in which he deals with the everyday practicalities of working outside. Using a limited pallet he will also teach you how to simplify colour mixing, allowing you to work faster; an invaluable skill when working plein air.
As a highly successful gallery artist Roger has a wealth of experience to share with his students, making this an exceptionally fulfilling event. Roger is equally happy teaching beginners and experienced artists, making this workshop open to anyone who has a desire to paint.
Old Bank Studios offers a wide range of art, craft and textile courses and work-shops. Based in a glorious Edwardian banking hall, our fully equipped studios provide ideal spaces where students can work in a relaxed, ambient atmosphere. Located in the heart of Old Harwich, we are just a few yards from the Electric Palace Cinema.
Harwich Town Railway Station is less than a five minute walk away, with hourly trains to Manningtree, where there are mainline connections to Colchester, Chelmsford, London, Ipswich and Norwich. If you are coming by car, there is normally plenty of on road parking, otherwise there is a public car park a one minute walk away. It is always possible to drop off right at our front doors.
