About the Course

Learn some simple stitches and the techniques you need to complete your own embroidery projects.

Who is this course for
Absolute beginners, so you can learn your lazy daisy from your herringbone and your running stitch from your satin stitch. Or even, learn how to thread a needle and not panic if you get into a tangle.

What does this course cover
Start with the very basics of embroidery and let's see how far we can get in 12 sessions.

What will it be like
The lessons will start with tutor demonstrations and videos and group instruction and one-to-one help throughout the lesson. We also hope that the class will be positive, friendly and fun.
There will be an optional coffee break half way through the lesson.

Teaching methods:
- Visual demonstration and verbal explanation.
- Written handouts with visual diagrams.
- One-to-one teaching.
- Group discussions.

Learning methods:
- Hands on practical experience.
- Reading handouts and following instructions.
- One-to-one and group discussion.

How we assess students' progress on the course.

Questions and answers during group discussions and one-to-one teaching.
Record students' progress and achievement on an assessment sheet as they achieve the course objectives.
Practical work produced is evidence of learning.

All basic materials are provided, and the tutor can advise you if you wish to buy your own equipment or specialist materials for your projects.
