After what seems to be a very long break, we are reopening our studios in Markeaton Park for the public. Each month we host two 5 hours workshops so you can be sure there's always something new coming up.
The theme of both workshops in May will be "Spring Flowers" on a Plexiglas base. We will be using silicon glue and stained glass on a 20x20cm Plexiglas square base.
Since we are a business we are allowed to run these workshops with a maximum of 8 people per workshop plus the instructor. Each participant will receive a COVID safety policy letter, free car park tickets and a video on how to arrive to the Craft Village car park once payment had been received.
In the workshop area, hand sanitizing units will be available on arrival downstairs and at your table. Each participant will be asked to wear a mask and safety goggles (as per usual when cutting glass). Face shields do not offer the protection that masks do so, we will have to wear masks throughout the duration of the workshop. Anti-fog wipes for your glasses and the protective glasses will be available during the workshop. You can bring your own snack and drink in a non spill container but I will encourage you all to take a break during the workshop and consume these in the courtyard if possible.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
Each participant will have access to its own cutting tools/tweezers and glass tesserae/ceramic, tiles/ stained glass will be stored on each table in small containers without the need to exchange them with other participants.
The costs includes parking fee, materials, tuition and a takeaway box with grouting. You also receive details about online tutorials guidance to complete your mosaic.
No food or drinks provided throughout the workshop, however there are 3 cafes nearby where both drinks and food can be purchased.
This craft course provider has been awarded Bronze status for receiving 1 or more 5 star ratings from previous students.
The Students' Choice award ensures that course providers get recognised for their efforts in the teaching and practice of UK craft.
They also allow tutors to gain valuable feedback on their courses and for new students to find the course that's right for them.
