As with stained glass, fused glass is colourful and accessible. It’s popularity as an affordable hobby has led to extensive development by the raw materials manufacturers and now the range of colours, textures, accessories and fusing equipment is almost endless….. and getting better all the time. Fusing glass is a much less regimented process than stained glass and in many ways is much like collage, offering plenty of scope for expression. It’s versatile as well – I’ve been making fused dichroic glass jewellery, wall-art and kiln-formed glass for years and it always seems popular with visitors to the workshop.
Glass fusing festive themed half day taster session
This class is designed to get you in the mood for Christmas and make something pretty to hang on your Christmas tree. The project is to make a decorative hanging piece and we will provide a glass baseplate, as a canvass of sorts, and then using the various glass accessories you would then compose your designs on to the plate in preparation for firing in the kiln. Throughout the session there will be lots of information about the process and support given at all times. The firing will take place as soon as possible after the session and the piece can be mailed, collected or hand delivered depending on distance.
We have design examples to follow, but we are happy to let you run with your own ideas provided the finished size isn't too large. If you want to make multiple items or larger items there will be an additional charge for extra materials used.
Session duration - 4 hours, 13:00 - 17:00. Morning sessions can be arranged on request.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
The taster session includes use of tools, materials for your first project such as glue, frits, stringers, glass ribbons, glass paints and pre-cut clear shapes (x3 small triangular hanging ornaments or x1 11cm circular hanging ornament or x1 7cmx10cm house shaped hanging ornament with background colour glass or x1 15cmx6cm rectangular hanging ornament) and refreshments are provided.

Very quick delivery, made this for the first time and can’t wait to get it back and see the results. Loves the experience.
It was a breath of fresh air to be able to be crafty again after such a long time in lockdown. I have been to many many workshops of various fashion but Natalie’s was the best with no exaggeration. She allowed me to put my own spin on my creations as I ended up making jewellery. I had plenty of time and was suggested rather than told what to do. She and Paul have a lovely workshop and are very kind hosts. I highly recommend!
Response from North Norfolk Stained Glass:Thank you for this lovely review Alina!
I had the most fantastic time today with Natalie, who is incredibly talented and inspiring. I would give this 6 stars instead of 5 if I could! The setting, the guidance, the whole experience is second to none. I almost want to keep this course as a secret as it is such a fantastic find, but genuinely this wonderful workshop should be shared. I also got to see the kits that you can make at home and was blown away by the content, care and attention to detail. They will make beautiful gifts for anyone, or even just to treat yourself to something. I literally cannot recommend this enough. Thank you to Natalie, and your beautiful family, for making today a truly fabulous day!
