Green wood stool making

Course tutor: Tom Dillon

On this three-day course, led by green woodwork tutor Tom Dillon, you will get the chance to transform a log of fresh green wood into your own stool (with either a solid-wood or woven seat) using a shave-horse and/or a pole-lathe.

On day 1, you will be introduced to the different types of green wood stools, and invited to decide what you would like to make during the course. Tom will then lead the group through the sourcing, selection and processing of green wood logs. By the end of day 2, everyone will have completed the carving of all the stool components, ready for assembly and finishing on the final day. Each course participant should leave the course with a beautiful hand crafted stool, and of course, a big smile on their face!

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
