This goldwork kit introduces you to the art of Goldwork including passing, stitching the pearl purl, essing and creating the intricate flower. This kit is aimed at someone who has knowledge of embroidery but would like to improve their goldwork technique.
Goldwork is usually seen in the military and the ecclesiastical gown. The badges and banners are usually embroidered with intricate goldwork. I personally like to use it with other techniques or within a contemporary design.
Detailed instructions can be found in each goldwork kit and will show you how to work through the design step by step. Also included are hints and tips for the technique but we welcome your additional questions at www.ecolesaintclare.com
This piece contains a border using fundamental gold work techniques, but with an intricate pattern to add depth. The silver accents bring some lightness to the design and contrast with the darker gold.
The kit is presented in a special kit box with ribbon so is a great gift for someone special but also a treat to yourself!
Finishied piece size is approximately 12cm (H) x 6cm (W)
PLEASE NOTE that for this design you have the option between a white or a black background (see pictures).
Each kit includes: detailed instructions, gold passing, gold pearl purl, gold smooth and rough purl, silver smooth purl, beeswax, different size needles, callico (backing fabric), white or black duchess satin fabric and two Gutermann bobbin thread.
You will also need: embroidery scissors, sharp small scissors (to cut the purl), an embroidery hoop or a frame and pins.
