About the Course
Learn how to make stunning clay tiles/panels with pockets or indentations incorporated into the surfaces that contain melted glass.
Your work will be fired in a kiln to melt the glass, creating a lustrous surface which contrasts beautifully with the matt clay. An opportunity to create a series of small pieces or focus on something more ambitious, working on your own ideas or using one of Peter's designs. You can bring your own bits of coloured glass (even small pieces of bottle glass look great).
All abilities welcome!
Peter Garrard hand builds sculptural and functional pieces for the home and garden from his studio in Gloucester using a range of coiling and slab building techniques. He has exhibited widely across the region including Fresh Air at Quenington and at New Brewery Arts. He was awarded a first class degree at Manchester Metropolitan University in 3D design and studied Ceramics at Alfred University, USA. He has extensive experience teaching Art and Design and Ceramics in secondary and in further education.
