Come and join Sarah for a day of learning new skills and techniques to create a wall hanging or set of 4 coasters. You will learn techniques such as Glass Cutting, Transferring Designs, Decorative Techniques, Inclusions, Colouring and Fusing. Sarah will show you how to hand draw onto glass and also how to use frits. Don't worry if you aren't sure what you would like to make we can work together to come up with a design.
Once you have made your creations they will need to be fired in the kiln, and will be ready for collection the following week.
This class is suitable for anyone over the age of 14, however under 18's must be accompanied by an adult. Sturdy, closed toe shoes must be worn, e.g.: trainers, as unfortunately without them you will not be able to take part.
The class starts at 10am and are usually finished by 4pm - depending on how long it takes you to finish your masterpieces!
What's included in the price?
The price is inclusive of materials, tuition, tea, coffee and most importantly homemade cake!
Along with my husband & 14 yr old daughter we attended Sarah's beginners glass fusion workshop. With 6 in the class there was a great deal of 1:1 support, clear guidance on what to do & how, lots of creative input and Sarah was able to adapt to individuals requirements. We made a mixture of test pieces to learn different methods, coasters & a wall hanging & were all really pleased with our efforts.
Lovely brownies were a tasty reward at lunchtime! A really different way to spend a day.
A really lovely day with Sarah at her glassmaking course - I made a wall hanging as well as several practice pieces, all of which turned out amazingly well. I learnt lots of new techniques, and the whole day was just so interesting and fun. I will definitely be returning again for another course, especially at Christmas. Lovely brownies too! Thank you Sarah.
A wonderful day! I learnt so much, going to collect my finished pieces today.
Sarah was accommodating and so patient with all of us learning. Great value for money I made so many pieces and really felt I got a lot from the day. Will be going back for more classes with Sarah!
I was given the course as a birthday present and what a wonderful day! The time flew by and we didn't just get to make our main piece - we had lots of smaller practice pieces as well that get fired and we can keep. It was lovely to try out all the different techniques and Sarah was great. Thank you :)
Thanks Sarah. I enjoyed my day & enjoyed working with a friendly bunch of people. Nice that it was a small group. Lovely to have plenty of equipment & choices of what to use. Thanks for clear explanations of the basics & your friendly encouragement.
I have some hearing loss so missed some things you said but that is my fault as I have to get used to being clearer & explaining that I need to see you face to hear properly for lip-reading.
I would be interested in possibly doing another day but I would like to be a bit more prepared for what I wanted to do.
I would like to have seen some samples of your own work to understand your style.
I have just completed a glass fusing day course with Sarah and thoroughly enjoyed it. The day was well structured, there was enough information to get us up and running without being overwhelming. Sarah gave clear demonstrations of techniques and was on hand to help everyone throughout the day. I am hoping to book on to another course in the future.
Went to Sarah's Saturday workshop and really enjoyed it. Sarah is a great teacher and even when talking to another student saw when we needed help and was very patience with all of us. She managed to sense how proficient we each were, the class was relaxed and we all had time to make our masterpieces. The equipment was excellent and we had an abundance of paints and colours.
I had such an amazing day when I attended Sarah's class. She made it both interesting and fun by teaching us some techniques. I even managed to cut a piece of glass straight without breaking it! I was really proud of my end result and although I love art I am not very creative. I will attend again,.
Bought vouchers for me and my friend for her 50th birthday. We had such a fantastic day. We both love crafts and it was great to do something new together, and Jo had something to keep for her birthday. As you get to keep all your practice pieces, I made a picture out of the Christmas tree piece that was on the wall over Christmas, bringing back great memories. Will definitely go to another class when I can as Sarah is a great teacher. Thank you
After completing a series of Sarah's courses it's given me the confidence to take on more complicated tasks. Sarah's never failing support and guidance enables me to do things I never dreamed I could. Cannot recommend the courses enough. Thank you Sarah.
I have just been on the one day beginners glass fusing course. What a fantastic way to spend the day - learning new skills, chatting and eating homemade cake, what could be better. It's amazing what can be achieved in just one day. Sarah is welcoming and friendly, and hugely talented, I would love to go back to learn more. Thank you Sarah!
Last evening I went to the 1st session in a 6 week Glass fusing course with Sarah and what a lovely experience.
Sarah is an excellant teacher, encouraging, caring and creative, putting us all at our ease from the start, giving me the confidence and the belief that I can and I will achieve each weeks tasks.
Looking forward to week 2 and of course Sarahs wonderful cookies! Thank you Sarah.
I went to Sarah's Saturday workshop and loved it! It was relaxed and comfortable, with lots of one to one attention. Sarah is friendly and encouraging and she clearly loves what she does. She encouraged us all to be creative and everyone in the group to make something individual. The lovely brownies were an added bonus!
