About the Course
Learn and develop the techniques needed to realise
your own glass art and glass jewellery projects. Includes fused glass projects.
Who is this course for
The course is suitable for students of all levels of experience and is perfect for anyone who is interested in learning techniques to decorate glass - including the basic principles of glass fusing.
What does this course cover
The course will introduce students to basic fusing techniques within glass including tack and contour fusing and glass slumping. If you are new to glass, you will learn to cut straight lines and curves and complete simple project briefs which give you the opportunity to make a coaster and a pendant or your own idea. For the more experienced students can work on their own fused glass projects with technical support from the tutor. We will look at lots of samples and materials and discuss firing schedules, different surface techniques including glass decals, and look at other artists work.
Please note that if work is to be fired there will be a maximum size of 20cms x 20cms to ensure that we can fit all of the work in the kiln.
