You will work independently and as part of a group to perform exercises which will help you understand the Apple Macintosh and its many functions and features. The tutor will help you with your personal requirements for using a Mac and advise of the features and functions you would mostly need. The class will be taught via a mix of presentation, active learning exercises, demonstrations, hand-outs, step-by-step instructions, pair working and group discussion. One-to-one tuition will be given to help develop ideas and skills. Manageable project work will sometimes be assigned between classes to help you progress.
The classes are informal and allow for question and answer sessions, technical advice and support depending on your needs, and assessment and feedback on your progress. Some use of web-based presentation tools will be encouraged. Learning will be supported by course hand-outs, and the tutor will provide links to online resources.
