About the Course
26th January 2019: Get to grips with your Sewing Machine
This full day workshop gives you the opportunity to get to know your machine with the guidance of an experienced machinist. A perfect class for beginners or those who would like a refresher. Our workshops may be gifted as well. This would make a great day out for a lucky person with a new machine for Christmas! Annie will teach you the basics of your machine and help you gain the confidence to go off on your own and create! You will go home with lots of samples to remind you of your stitches and techniques learned during the day.
Feb 9th: Freehand Machine Embroidery
A fun day of sewing using the popular freemotion embroidery technique. Continue to hone your own skills or start your textile journey with guidance from Annie who has been using this technique in her artwork for 20 years! Just bring your own machine and leads, any inspiration and some enthusiasm!
30th March: Contemporary Hand Embroidery
During this workshop we will cover some simple hand embroidery techniques and stitches, enjoy the process of slow stitching and seeing a design come to life. Annie has created a fabulous collection of embroidery kits and downloadable pattern designs that can be used as starting points for your unique contemporary embroidery. Many of these will be available for use on the workshop. You will learn how to transfer images to fabric and you could even bring along some clothing to embroider! Complimentary tea and coffee will be served throughout the day. This full day workshop would make a great gift for someone who would like to learn something new or simply brush up on old skills! Haberdashery items will be available to purchase at the workshop helping you to keep stitching when the class has ended.

Thank you Annie for a very informative course. I now feel much more confident to use my sewing machine. I've used the notes I made with you and my test material with all the different stitch lengths. It was a really useful, fun day.

IT was a lovely day where Annie took us through the basics of machine embroidery. She was able to help everyone out individually and came over as someone who knew a lot about the subject and was excited to pass on what she knew.
I loved looking at all her samples and meeting like-minded people.
I would like to know how to progress with the technique 'beyond the basics' now.
