About the Course

Taught by a professional photographer with over 15 years of working experience, this is a practical workshop day packed with information about starting and improving your DSLR photography.

We will be looking at the technical aspects of the DSLR camera, such as settings and functions but will also be looking at how we can be creative with our photographic skills.

We will be be discussing the fundamentals of composition, depth of field, aperture, shutter speed and ISO features but, perhaps more importantly, we will be breaking the day up with regular practical photography sessions which we will then review.

Date: Saturday 27th October 2018

Time: 9.30am - 4pm

Location: Village Hall, Milborne Port (DT9 5RE)

Maximum number on workshop is 10 people. This class is suitable for adults and accompanied teens.

We will look at the fundamentals of photography in detail - light, composition and subject - and will also touch on a wide range of topics such as using natural light, lenses and other equipment, landscape photography, action photos, close up and macro images, black and white photography, storing and organisation of image files... and more!

The workshop tuition, advice and guidance given by Sally on the day form the basis for this workshop.

You will need a DSLR camera or micro 2/3rds camera. Rule of thumb is that if you have interchangeable lenses then this is a workshop which is suitable for you - contact me before booking if you have a bridge camera and we will look at suitability.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

Want to review this course?

This was a relaxed group, there was a lot to take in, in a short time, sally made it easy to understand all the camera functions and didn’t mind going back over things. I feel I gained confidence in my ability to use my camera to its best.
I would recommend this course to complete beginners or someone who has a little knowledge but wants to learn more about composition, light etc
