Get Creative Under 16 (Cottingham Saturday mornings)

About the Course

Our term time course Get Creative for Under 16 runs different sessions on a half termly (or termly for alternate week courses) carousel. This block of sessions runs on specific alternate Saturdays. More details can be provided on request with specific dates. Learners are encouraged to become continual learners but can also choose to book sessions in half or term blocks. We will advertise which courses are running in each location, and which sessions will be running in each block.

We run projects in sewing, screen printing, printmaking, fashion illustration, drawing and illustration, craft and 3D modelling! There is so much on offer and we provide exciting projects that will give young people creative skills for life.

In our block of sewing sessions, we provide a perfect course for children of all ages to learn to sew. Using both hand stitching and machine stitching methods, we will guide learners through the very basics and how to operate the machine safely. We will show learners how to make seams, cut and assemble a sewing project from start to finish. We provide a structured project within with learners can create their own pyjamas, make up bag, eye mask or other fun accessories. We will also introduce learners to hand sewing and embellishment techniques, applique and fabric dying/painting. By the end of this course, learners will have a good understanding of how to sew and make. We offer our full support to learners ensuring they all complete a project outcome. A great skill to learn and the start of a magical journey of creativity.

Please note, courses are run by trained teachers. All learners for this course must be 9 - 16 years old. Maximum number of 10 places available.
