A series of gentle pilates exercises and stretches to strengthen the body, improve balance, co-ordination and increase flexibility. Please note, many exercises are mat-based, and therefore carried out on the floor.
Who is this course for
This 'Gentle pilates' course is suitable for those who wish to work at a gentler pace than in our other Pilates classes. Please note that the Tuesday class is a slightly longer class than the Thursday class.
If you have specific injuries or health problems please get advice from a medical practitioner before enrolling.
What does this course cover
You will have the opportunity to experience gentler Pilates exercises that reinforce the Pilates principles. We learn about posture and the core muscles of the body while helping build strength, flexibility and mobility. Where appropriate alternatives are offered but during the course we cover exercises that are carried out standing, seated, kneeling and lying down.
By the end of the course you should feel confident you know how to
- Engage the postural muscles of your core
- Carry out a range of Pilates moves displaying correct alignment and control of your body.
