About the Course

This two-day course gives an opportunity to explore this traditional craft and to make for yourself a 25cm square flower panel using the leaded technique. There will be a choice of colours to use for the flower and background. You will be able to use ‘etching’ cream to make a frosted pattern on some of the glass. The tutor will provide packs of glass for you to choose from. All the other materials and tools you will need to complete your panel are also provided, including a ’shepherds crook’ to hang your panel on. The course is suitable for all levels, including beginners.

Bring a friend!

If you are attending a course at Flatford Mill at the sole occupancy price, we are offering a special rate for a friend or partner not enrolled on the course to also stay at £50 per night for dinner, bed and breakfast.

Please contact FSC Flatford Mill on 01206 297110 or enquiries.fm@field-studies-council.org to book this offer.

Carole Gray is a designer and maker of decorative stained glass, who uses many of the traditional techniques practised by stained glass artists over the centuries to create work which is highly contemporary and decorative. She also has extensive experience teaching these techniques. Her own style of work is abstract and inspiration comes from a wide range of sources. Colour, repeating patterns and decorative motifs are a common theme throughout. Carole is as happy using strong, vibrant colours as with a cool, calm and restrained palette. She is listed on the Crafts Council Register and a member of the Contemporary Glass Society and the British Society of Master Glass Painters.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
