Fused glass workshop in the Lake District

A sample of fused glass
X

Description

During the day you will be taken through the basics of cutting the glass, designing and assembling your pieces, and learning about the science behind glass making. You will have plenty of samples to look at and if you wish to bring along your own ideas or some inspiration that would be great but not essential.

You will have the opportunity to make some jewellery, a small bowl, trinket dish, wall hanging and coasters.

Marilyn has been fusing glass for 12 years and has a studio near the local town of Ulverston. After a long career teaching horticulture, art and a variety of crafts, she chose to specialise in fused glass. Her journey through experimentation and running courses has taken her all around the country. She is now bringing her skills to Hare Hill Barn.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

Please wear sensible shoes, no open toes and bring an apron. Please note your items will be taken away to be fired and returned to Hare Hill Barn the following week ready for collection. If you may not be available to collect the items, please get in touch to discuss options.

There will be a charge of £25 per person for the glass. This is payable direct to Marilyn on the day. All other tools and equipment will be provided.

Refreshments are provided throughout the day including home baked cakes, and a two course lunch.

We do not offer accommodation but there are numerous places to suit all budgets within a few miles at Grange over Sands, Cartmel or Windermere, and some B&Bs close by.

Due to Covid19 we shall continue to have small groups. There is plenty of room in the Barn to remain socially distanced but please bring a mask with you and follow instructions regarding safeguarding.
