About the Course

This full-day workshop will really give you a taste for glass fusing!

You'll get to make as many fabulous projects as you can do (usually at least 5, depending on how fast you work!) which will be kiln-fired after the workshop. Pieces destined to be flat panels will be fired once, and 3-dimensional pieces such as bowls and candle screens twice, so it may take about ten days before your items are ready to collect or be posted to you.

You'll learn how to cut glass safely and add lovely stuff like frit, stringers and noodles to create your own one-of-a-kind glass art, in designs and colours you choose. These could include tealight holders, candle screens, plates, bowls or window panels. You're only limited by your imagination!

Where are we? About 10 minutes from Blyth services on the A1M, so really easy to get to.

If you’re not local, accommodation is available at the Blyth Travel Lodge hotel, one or two B&B’s in Harworth itself or there’s a nearby site for caravans and campervans. We’re not affiliated with any of these and you will need to make your own arrangements with them.

If you’re coming by train, we’ll pick you up at the station and ferry you to and from the studio.

A £30 deposit on booking secures your place. It is non-refundable if you cancel and don't book another day. It's fully refundable if I cancel.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

~ You'll get all the materials you need, use of the tools and lots of one-to-one tuition.
~ Up to two kiln firings for each of your pieces.
~ Refreshments on tap as required.
~ A good lunch of your choice.
~ If you're not local to us, the cost of posting your finished items to you is included (highlands and
islands may be an extra charge.)

Most of the set course dates are weekends, but I can do any day of the week by arrangement. If the projected course dates conflict with other obligations you have, do contact me and we'll see if we can work it out. I can be flexible and it may be possible to organise another workshop on whatever day suits us both.
