Working with glass is not nearly as scary as it sounds, come and see?
I will teach you what you need to know, then we'll unleash your inner creative (yes she/he is in there) and you can enjoy making your own gorgeous glass.
Ideas, advice & guidance in abundance.
A creative workshop is a great way to unwind.
My class sizes are small (usually max 4) which means a good student to teacher ratio.
At the moment, due to the current circumstances, I am happy to offer half day exclusives for just 2 people booking together. This means you will be working alongside someone you already know - and me of course.
Just get in touch to arrange your exclusive date.
At the Beginners Workshop we cover:
•Intro to safety, tools & equipment.
•What is fusing, slumping, warm glass (hot glass) cold working etc.
•What happens to glass in the kiln.
•The special glass we use and why.
•Learn to handle and cut glass safely.
During your half day fused glass taster (approx. 3 hours) you can create a variety of small projects, typically 4. They are coaster sized (10cm square); but don't stop there; they can also be little works of art to hang or frame and 2 can be slumped (shaped) into little (trinket) dishes if you wish. You are encouraged to use different design techniques for your projects, although you can make a matching set if you wish. The choice is yours, with guidance and advice throughout.
Be creative - oh yes you can - experiment with our range of 'accessory' glass (frits, powders & stringers) and inclusions.
Also available are day-long workshops for beginners - make more and 'go large'! And if you already know the basics, take a look at my Further Fusing workshops instead.
Your glass will be fired (fused and slumped) over the following 2 weeks, ready for collection. Or I can post - which is charged at cost.
