Glass Fusing Workshops for ‘social bubbles’.
While the UK remains on CV-19 alert, the studio is opening for small groups already in a ‘support bubble’. This way the only ‘wild card’ is me and I wear a full face shield (scary isn’t it?).
I am offering half day exclusives for 2 people - the price shown is for 2! So you will be with someone you already know & are close to (apart from me). Just contact me to arrange your special date - weekends or mid-week.
As a matter of normal safety protocol, we supply goggles (washed & disinfected) and FFP3 face-masks (single use) for glass working. Aprons are available, as are gloves.
Wearing your own face-mask at other times is optional. Everything is wiped down before you come, it will also be several days between workshops.
What is a ‘support bubble’?
A support or social bubble is group of people who already have close physical contact, if you are unsure, read more on the BBC website. The rules for Wales are very slightly different see Wales Online.
Half day (3 hour approximately) sessions only, full day workshops will follow, hopefully soon.
As always everything is included (materials, equipment, firings etc). However, you may prefer to bring your own refreshments at the moment.
On this workshop, we cover:
•Safety, glass, tools & equipment.
•Learn to cut glass.
•Design ideas & techniques; how to make it!
During your half day you will create up to 4 small tile or coaster sized 'projects' these can be all the same (a set of coasters for example) though I encourage you to try different ideas and techniques. 2 of your pieces can also be 'slumped' (shaped) into little dishes if you wish.
What you make will be your choice, as will the detail which you wish to apply. I will guide and advise throughout so that you to get the most from your time at the studio.
Your projects will be fired (fused and slumped) over the following 2 weeks, ready for collection or posting - which is charged at cost (everything else is included).
Hello, I'm your 'tutor', Jill Bagnall, artist/maker at Fusing Ideas Glass. A lifelong crafter with over 10 years focused on glass, I'm a member of both Shropshire & Worcestershire Guilds of Contemporary Craft as well as the Contemporary Glass Society.
I've introduced hundreds of people to fused glass over the last few years, with many returning to make more & more. And I look forward to introducing you to this amazing material while you recharge your batteries at a creative workshop and make your own beautiful art glass.
