About the course:
‘Here’s your chance to learn some wood distressing, finishing and painting skills to produce that vintage country furniture look.
During the class, you will spend time learning some basic wood preparation techniques, exploring how and why this preparation will affect the final desired effect.
You will find out about the characteristics of common materials used in furniture and how to best work with these.
This course is designed to build a participants confidence in basic furniture painting tasks, in order to successfully & skilfully achieve a professional finish.
Selection of project items (What to look for + do’s and don’ts).
An introduction to dry brushing effects.
Materials that can be used to your advantage including certain common defects.
Correct brushing techniques for the material or item being painted.
Introduction to time saving power tool techniques.
Adding the effects of age.
