Full day Jewellery Making for beginners

Student making a ring

A full day learning the skills to create your own pieces of Sterling silver jewellery.
We start with an introduction to the equipment, and studio learning to anneal and texture metal. We practice on copper. Next it's drilling and developing sawing and filing skills. You can learn how to melt and reclaim scrap silver to make stud earrings. Next you choose what to make, a ring and bangle? Perhaps a pendant. You should have enough time to make 2 or 3 things, maybe more. It is also possible to learn to set stones or sea glass in this class. Sterling silver will cost extra, charged at cost, so a small ring might be £3, a larger one £6. Bangles are £12 is. Silver prices fluctuate but is currently about £1.12/gram.
Maximum class size is 4.
