Description

This course teaches you everything that you need to know to master the basic skills of crochet and then apply them to create a wonderful keepsake blanket. Aimed at complete beginners, you do not need any experience of crochet to join in on this course.

By the end of the series, you will:

Know the difference between US and UK terminology
Understand how your hook size, tension, and yarn weight affects the outcome of your finished piece
Learn the basic abbreviations you need to read a pattern properly
Be able to cast a foundation chain
Complete a row of single crochet stitches (US)
Practice the correct way to turn and continue the next row
Complete a row of double crochet stitches (US)
Learn how to slip stitch to join a row and to move along a row
Be able to change colours
Create a beautiful granny stitch square blanket - as big as you like!

What you will need

4mm crochet hook
DK yarn of your choosing (at least 1000 metres, or more if you would like a bigger blanket)
Scissors
Internet connection & Zoom application
