Create free motion drawings and pictures with paper and textile artist Lucy Dorothy Nichols. Lucy currently works as a tutor teaching free motion and paper cutting workshops at a wide variety of venues across Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire.
Lucy also teaches private workshops and 1:1 classes from her home in Hampshire. All classes are suitable for those with a very basic knowledge of machine sewing, and are a wonderful opportunity to find out just how easy it is to use your machine for drawing and doodling!
You will be shown how to setup your machine for free motion sewing as well as various techniques including thread sketching and raw edge appliqué. All fabrics and templates will be provided to enable you to create several small designs.
Due to Covid-19 classes are currently suspended, however if you would like to be notified when classes are able to resume safely please message me via the 'Ask a question' form above.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
Depending on the venue, sewing machines may or may not be provided. At venues where they are not provided, attendees will need to bring along their own, which must be in good working order and have the ability to free motion. A basic sewing kit including black thread is also required, all other materials will be provided.
Please contact Lucy to discuss which venues include the use of a sewing machine.
