Description

This is a face to face session course where we will create a large sized fox approximately 19 to 20"" tall. In this workshop I will lead you through the process to create an armature, then clothe the fox in Powertex Stone Art Clay and create the facial features. 1st session 10am until 5/6pm This is a long day - this also requires a 2/3 hour colouring session approximately 4 days or so later - please advise when you would like to book this date in via email IF THERE ARE TWO PEOPLE ATTENDING I CAN SPLIT THE LONG DAY INTO TWO SESSIONS - 1. CREATING THE ARMATURE AND 2. ADDING THE CLAY 2nd session 2/3hours can be booked in an evening if you prefer Please book the 2nd session at the time of booking the workshop You will need to leave the fox with me for a minimum of 4 days to allow the clay to dry out a bit before you return for approximately two hours to complete the colouring process. This is necessary as we would not want to damage the clay creature. I am happy to facilitate this in an evening Let me introduce you to the wonderful world of Powertex. It is a water based, non-toxic and environmentally friendly universal medium it is a liquid essentially a paint and glue combined and it is a fabric hardener, used to create 2D or 3D sculptures. In the case of Stone Art creatures they can go in the garden once it has been dried for 6 months. It would however benefit from a coat of varnish I will supply all materials, including gloves, since Powertex is a messy, but extremely creative business. I will guide you through the construction/creation of the piece and then the colouring process which is where the magic happens! You can't believe the difference it makes!! Some workshops exceed the finish time by as much as an hour please allow for this when booking. This workshop takes place over two sessions as the stone art clay creatures need to dry off before you can colour them.

Inky Escapades is run by Karen Hewitt, Artist, & Certified Powertex tutor in Fabric Sculpting, Stone Art Clay, Mixed Media and 3D Flex. My Powertex workshops will give you a window into your own personal creativity. I will offer you the tools and instruction to create fabulous works of art; beware though as Powertex is a very addictive hobby and you may find yourself consumed by its magic. Most materials used are recycled. I offer small workshops for up to 4 people or 1 to 1 by arrangement.
