About the Course

This is a special class for fans of 'forged in fire' where the format of the course is loosely based on the popular american tv show where previous attendees of our knife making classes will be working to produce a knife that will be made from a steel revealed at the at the beginning of the class.

The emphasis will be to produce a blade that will be heat treated on day one and then on day two we shall be finishing the edge with a view to testing the blade . We shall also do a basic handle that will be revealed during the class.
Like the tv programme we shall be working to some predefined parameters regarding blade length etc.

The second part of day two we shall be testing the blades for sharpness and marking the overall 'fit and finish' with a small prize for the winner and certificates for all attending.

This class is aimed at non professionals who would like to indulge themselves in a friendly competitive arena of bladesmithing for fun and meeting like minded beginners that also want to broaden their skills.

We shall have 3 tutors to assist at every step of the process . We shall be using coke forges as we have done on previous classes.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
