Forest Bathing (Shinrin-Yoku)
What is it?
The name comes from the Japanese “Shinrin-Yoku” which literally means “taking in the atmosphere of the forest”. This is done by using our senses - breathing, listening and noticing the beauty of nature that surrounds us. Forest bathing is a research verified way of supporting well-being, health and happiness. It is becoming well-known as a tool to reduce stress. It also benefits the cardiovascular and immune systems and improves mood and cognition.
This weekend we invite you to really step away from the everyday hustle of life and lose yourself in the moment. Experience through all your senses the beauty of this riverside setting using forest bathing techniques to immerse yourself into the creative process.
It is our hope that you come away feeling renewed and full of joy, swinging your basket, with the knowledge of how to make another and effortlessly drop into the practice of forest bathing in your everyday life.
