About the Course
As of January 2019 we are launching two new footstool workshops.
classic footstool workshop
sewn button workshop
deep button workshop
The classic footstool course is a one day extravaganza combining painting techniques with upholstery. You will start the day with a solid hardwood frame, and throughout the day you will follow the step by step guidance of Jan, learning all about the tools and materials used, as well as covering lots of techniques from webbing, applying hessian and wadding, cutting fabric and corners.
The sewn and deep button footstools are both 2 day workshops requiring at least 2 meters of fabric.
You will also use Chalk Paint®, decorative paint by Annie Sloan with basic painting techniques you will be able to choose from a palette of 30+ colours to paint your legs to match your fabric choice! And at the end of the day’s course you will be able to take your footstool home to show off your new found skills!
Please bring with you 1 metre of suitable fabric for your footstool or 2 metres (with a contrast fabric) for the sewn and deep button footstools. We can offer you a selection of fabric incurring an additional cost of £10 per metre.
All workshops are conducted in the dedicated studio in Wallasey. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions before booking.
