Join published author and artist, Pippa Pixley, for an exciting introduction to expressive floral painting using botanical inks, watercolour and gouache. Learn tips and techniques for creating texture, movement, and fluidity. We will create gestural pieces that reflect the natural beauty of the blooms, choosing your own flowers and foliage, creating a pleasing arrangement, and capturing it forever as bold strokes and splashes of colour. You will learn how to make your own inks and watercolours from plants, petals and pigments.
Pippa will show you how to work with a variety of mediums, including advice on how to prepare your own palette of botanical pigments and paints. She will share with you her tips and techniques for creating expressive, gestural and free flower paintings. This is a beautifully meditative and relaxing workshop as we immerse ourselves in nature, surrounded by intense colours and delicate fragrances.
“Flowers are ephemeral, but a painting can capture their beauty forever! This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as anyone interested in creating beautiful floral paintings. Everyone will complete this course feeling relaxed, refreshed and infused with creativity.”
