About the Course

This programme is for anyone who would like to join an informal group of enthusiastic, likeminded outdoor painters who are comfortable working without the need of a tutor. Each day the group will be taken out together by minibus to a different location where participants will be free to spend their time working however they wish using their own preferred medium. There is a wealth of painting potential around Flatford Mill, and excursions out may include locations such as Woodbridge, Pin Mill and Felixstowe Ferry. When the weather is prohibitive a day-time studio will be available for the exclusive use of the group. Although there will be no actual tuition throughout the day, professional artist Gerald Green will be available to provide help and guidance, if required, during the evening sessions in the studio. The group will be limited to a maximum of 10 participants.

Although suitable for all ability levels, it is essential that those considering coming along are comfortable painting outside without assistance, as this is not a painting course and will not include tuition, critiques, or painting demonstrations. Non-painting partners are also welcome but, owing to the limited availability of space in the minibus, transportation will not be available to non-painting partners.

Course tutor: Self Led - No Tutor
This is a Centre Assisted gathering of like-minded individuals who use their equipment and our facilities to meet together as a self-led workshop. There is no lead tutor as they are self-sufficient.

What to Bring
You will need to bring all materials and equipment that you will need during your time with the group. The daily minibus will have adequate storage space for transporting box easels, or similar, so you will be able to produce larger works if you so wish. The Centre has some metal folding field easels and folding chairs that can be hired but they do not stock painting materials.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
