About the Course
Fibre artist Carla Taylor creates contemporary sustainable wool sculptures inspired by wildlife and the British Countryside. She has a studio, the Mousehole Woolery, in the heart of Dorset. She enjoys passing on her skills to others through her very popular needled felting workshops here at Fisherton Mill.
Come and join us for a relaxing, inspirational fun weekend of needle felting with like minded, friendly and creative people!
On this new exciting two day needle felting masterclass workshop fibre artist Carla Taylor will guide you step by step through the basic techniques of needle felting as well as sharing lots of tips and tricks that she has learnt along the way as well as sharing her love and passion for local Dorset and British wool.
Carla will share with you how to make your sculptures more life like and come to life by be looking in more detail at the proportions, shapes and details of the beautiful magical brown hare by creating these features using intricate felted shapes, wire, the mixing and layering of different wool's and the use of reverse felting needles.
By the end of this two day workshop you will have created your own beautiful running hare mounted on a beautiful piece of locally sourced Dorset wood, ready for you to take home or if you can part with them to give that special someone as a gift!

The price of the workshop includes all materials and a needle felting kit as well as a 10% discount voucher for all food and drink purchased from the Gallery Café on the day of the workshop.

Pop in for a coffee, a cup of tea and a piece of cake, or something more substantial either before or after your workshop.
There is always something delicious to choose from - for lunch, try a generously filled sandwich or something warm, such as some hearty soup in winter, or a healthy salad in the summer, all washed down with a glass of wine, some elderflower or home-made minty limeade.
