About the Course
Fibre artist Carla Taylor creates contemporary sustainable wool sculptures inspired by wildlife and the British Countryside. She enjoys passing on her skills to others through her very popular needled felting workshops at Fisherton Mill. Carla runs workshops on a variety of countryside themes such as Vintage Spring Flowers, Woodland Squirrels and Festive Christmas Robins as well as this workshop which will enable you to create Country Hares & Foxes.
Carla will guide you step by step through the basic techniques of needle felting, sharing lots of tips and tricks that she has learnt along the way as well as her love and passion for local Dorset and British wool.
By the end of the workshop you will have created your own country hare or fox out of beautiful wool ready for you to take home or, if you can part with them, to give to someone as a special gift.
A fun, creative and inspiring day with friendly, like minded people in a cosy, creative setting!

Fisherton Mill is the largest independent Gallery complex in the south and has an onsite, award winning, Cafe on the ground floor. The Gallery Café's varied menu changes to suit the seasons and the recipes often use fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Pop in for a coffee, a cup of tea and a piece of cake, or something more substantial either before or after your workshop.
There is always something delicious to choose from - for lunch, try a generously filled sandwich or something warm, such as some hearty soup in winter, or a healthy salad in the summer, all washed down with a glass of wine, some elderflower or home-made minty limeade.
