Course Start Dates
Friday 6th December 2019About the Course
Starting right from the beginning, this course looks at observational drawing of still life subjects. It covers the importance of lines, how to use them, how different weights of line affect a visual image and goes on to explain tone. As part of the course we will spend short periods of time exploring this wonderful, natural environment to find interesting subjects that we will draw back at the studio. The drawing exercises are split into manageable chunks leading you through the process of collecting visual information and creating simple, effective drawings. Focusing on simple concepts and practical techniques this is the place to start if you are a beginner, or if you are new to pen and ink.

If you are attending a course at Flatford Mill at the sole occupancy price, we are offering a special rate for a friend or partner not enrolled on the course to also stay at £50 per night for dinner, bed and breakfast.
