About the Course
Get the most out of your video camera and editing equipment. Barnsley Local Television, a community interest company, is running one day courses on film making and on editing (separate course at later date).
Cameraman Carl Yeates will be running the course on a practical basis, backed up by technical hand-outs, useful information and work rounds that you may not have thought of before.
Film makers will subsequently be invited to submit a short video for showing on BLTV's website and DVD to take away with them if they do part two. Which is called Editing a Budget.
Film making is a fantastic hobby to have for capturing moments that are important to you and to build on any experience you may have. Although this is aimed at a basic level it will inspire you to go further.
I'll show you how I make a short film when I'm working in the field.
I encourage people to bring their own equipment if possible, empty cards (tapes) and charged batteries. This is so you'll have a good idea of how to get the most out of your equipment, including mobile phones. There is also a lot of equipment available. See in the What's Included section below.
Courses will take place at the Birdwell Theatre Academy, Barnsley.
As much coffee as you can handle as we'll be fitting a lot into the day. Lunch is also provided.
Each course will be limited to a maximum of 8 people, which is brilliant because then I'm able to give more attention to small groups and individuals. Plus as we're in a working theatre, we endeavour to have actors and actresses to hand for you to practice those shots in various situations.
For information or to book a place contact Carl Yeates on 07948601427 or via the contact form above.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
