Festive fun making a textile wreath using recycled fabrics and rag rug making
At this workshop you will discover the rag rug making techniques of prodding and hooking whilst making a beautiful festive wreath.
Mounted on a frame and decorated with cones these rag rug wreaths make great presents and delightful, enduring decorations for the home.
Festive Wool Decorations . 1st December 2018
Discover how to upcycle old woollen blankets and turn them into unique and fun festive wool decorations.
A jolly, colourful workshop making a string of standing wool Christmas Trees and baubles. Using upcycled woollen fabrics including brightly dyed blankets. We will coil and quill the shapes to make attractive decorations and lovely gifts whilst learning the skills to make a wide range of other items which will be on display.
This is the ultimate upcycling craft; to give old worn wool blankets and rags a completely new lease of life.
There will be lots of tips on cutting and dyeing the blankets. All tools and materials will be provided and more will be for sale on the day for you to continue some creative upcycling at home.
Two seperate workshops for both beginners and textile artists who want to experiment with lots of different tools, materials and effects. Rag rug making is a wonderful way to recycle old clothes and household textiles, yarns and even unspun fleece. The techniques are simple and the process is relaxing and thrifty. However making a whole rug is a lengthy process so we will make a series of small finished items and from this course you will take all the skills needed to make large rugs in future.
All tools and materials will be provided and more will be for sale on the day for you to continue some creative projects at home.
Sue Clow is a local textile artist with 30 years experience in textile recycling and designing.
She has experimented with many different textile techniques and sells tools and kits as

What's included in the price?
All tools and materials will be provide by Sue. There will be a £5 charge for materials payable directly to Sue on the day. Please bring your own sharp scissors .Teas and coffee is provided but please bring a packed lunch.
