In this hands-on class, you’ll have the time and materials to create two star-shaped crochet baskets in the season’s trending colours. Perfect for trinkets, treats and treasures to gift. This half-day workshop is a festive take on our popular crochet taster class that gives you the thrill of crocheting something wondrous, even if you’ve never picked up a crochet hook before. A chunky 6mm hook, two star shaped bases, 5mm 100% recycled cotton braid in a colour of your choice, plus 2 leather ‘hand-made’ tags are all included in the class price. You’ll also receive the pattern so you can finish your project and make more at home! And the best part? You don’t need any prior experience to join this creative and sociable class. Once you’ve discovered how addictive crochet is, you’ll be hooked (excuse the pun!) and ready to learn more skills and techniques in one of our regular Beginner’s Crochet classes.

What's included in the price?

All materials are included: 100g of 5mm Bobbiny yarn in the colour of your choice, a crochet hook, two star bases and a pattern. You get to keep your crochet hook and take home a pattern so you can make as many star baskets as you like. We will help you buy the bases online. If you don't finish both baskets in class, you will take the two bases and the remainder of your yarn home too. Each participant also receives a 10% discount voucher via email after the class has been held to use online towards a future class.

Founded in 1906, we are a family firm with shops in York and Harrogate. We specialise in haberdashery and needlecrafting materials and workshops, with an international reputation for stocking over 10,000+ different button designs. Our classes are held in a beautiful beamed room at the top of our medieval building in York and in the Yorkshire town of Ilkley in a converted Victorian double-fronted shop. They are taught by practicing designers and makers with considerable expertise in (and passion for) their respective crafts, and considerable teaching experience.
