About the Course

Felt is the oldest form of textile. Using just moisture, warmth and friction, fibres from plants & animals are turned into a fabric. The process is magical, relaxing and can be super creative.

Catherine Carmyllie is a Liverpool based artist who learnt the skill of felt-making in Scandinavia where she studied at an Arts & Crafts academy. In this workshop, she explains the process and provides a short demonstration with 1st hand examples.

She will explore different techniques and ultimately, you will produce a small item to take away (framed textile piece, gift card, phone cover, teapot/egg cup covers, drinks coasters, jewellery, brooch). There will be a short 10 minute break half way through, refreshments available from the gallery cafe.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. The voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
