The Fashion Collection: Small Run Production course is part of our newly established suite of courses for advanced fashion practitioners, aimed at enabling those with previous experience to evolve and to thrive in their creative work. For fashion entrepreneurs, the rise of online retail engagement platforms such as Etsy and Instagram have provided new and exciting opportunities to connect directly with potential customers. This course will support your work as a fashion professional by providing key technical and practical approaches to garment production.
Through the investigation of relevant materials, techniques and practices, you will learn to produce professional quality garments in small production runs, saving you time and money while creating saleable garments for your customers. To participate in this course, you will have experience in pattern cutting and garment construction to an advanced level and at least one design concept to be developed for production. This course will prepare you for a career change, enhance your portfolio to pursue postgraduate study, help you establish or expand your fashion business, or pursue an academic fashion career.
Refunds are not available on this booking. Start dates may be amended on request.
Classes are delivered as Online Plus, with sessions taking place online and in-college. Sessions will combine tutor demonstrations with informative hand-outs and guidance alongside opportunities for you to practice your skills with tutor support. In-college sessions will provide opportunities to practice with specialist equipment including Juki industrial sewing machines and K&L stands (mens and womens). Feedback is in the form of group discussions and individual tutorials. Personal tutor feedback will help guide you as you progress.
Elements of this session will be delivered in the college so you need to be able to travel to the Waterloo Centre in South Bank, London.
