If you can knit one row knit, one row purl then you have the skills for this workshop! Helena Horrocks has created this beautiful pattern so you learn lots of new techniques whilst creating something beautiful. This is suited to anyone who is comfortable knitting in stocking stitch.
You will learn how to -
- read and follow a chart
- strand your yarn (that's organising your yarn so the floating non knitted bits on the back aren't too long and loopy nor too tight so they distort the knitting)
- pick up and knit stitches as you add sections to the design
To complete your cushion you will need a piece of fabric 20" by 20", a zip and a 20" cushion pad. You don't need to worry about access to a sewing machine at home. Helena has made the sample cushions entirely by hand. It won't be possible to knit the entire project in the course of the day but it will be possible to complete the central 'starter' section and pick up stitches and start knitting adjacent sections.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
Your fee includes tuition from Helena, the knitting pattern designed by Helena and 7 balls of Cambrian Mountain Wool (there are 10 different colours to choose from). Please bring your own 3.25mm needles or circular needle. If you have them to hand, bring the size up and down from those incase you need to use a different size to get the correct tension.
