About the Course

Combine simple techniques such as monoprinting, block printing and hand painting with bondaweb applique. Assemble elements and embellish with hand stitch. A flexible, themed mini project will introduce the design process taking you through ideas development and into practical sampling. Focus on shape, texture and composition and explore your ideas in a project notebook/sketchbook. Experimentation and exploration will lead to a personal choice of outcome such as a collection of related samples and for the more experienced, a panel, small accessory, item for the home, transformed clothing or other item of choice.

By the end of the course you will be able to
Explore a range of techniques to develop a mini project
Use simple printed and painted techniques to create surfaces and textures
Combine print, applique, and elements of hand stitch according to personal choice
Work towards either a supported or self-directed outcome
