A sculpture course for students of all abilities (including Beginners) wishing to explore the human form as an inspiration for creating both abstract and figurative sculpture. Classes are held in a well-equipped sculpture studio and are designed to help you develop individual creative expression, greater awareness of sculpture techniques and safe workshop practice.
You'll be encouraged to experiment with both traditional and new concepts and materials related to body and form sculpture, exploring techniques and processes such as clay modelling, life body casting, mould making and mixed media construction. Basic materials are included but there is a charge for any materials over the allocated fee. Students are encouraged to continue throughout the year to develop personal projects.
Refunds are not available on this booking. Start dates may be amended on request.
Develop individual project work.
Tuition is primarily one-to-one and some group work with beginners. Short projects are set as an introduction to new materials and as a guide to the possibilities and language of figurative sculpture.
Step by step instruction and demonstration is given on new techniques. Handouts are given on Health & Safety, materials, techniques & reference materials. All learners negotiate individual learning goals with tutor and record and assess these goals on the Individual learning Plans.
