About the Course
Using techniques from textile artist Kathleen Murphy’s practice, this course aims to encourage an experimental approach to hand stitch.
Each week there will be a different topic to experiment with; Hide & Reveal Surfaces, Figurative Applique, Stitching into Space, Foreign Bodies, Fold, Tuck, Wrap. By the end of the course you will have a series of sampler pieces to refer to and inspire further experimentation with future projects. This is a stand-alone course but may also be an interesting progression for those who have completed the Creative Hand Embroidery course. Some previous hand stitch experience would be useful.
