Explore Printmaking: Beginners and Intermediate

Prints are always a result of a journey, from an initial idea, to information gathering and finally the realisation of an image. Focusing on progressing one or two prints, you will work on self directed projects with individual tuition, advice and guidance from the tutor. Set in a calm environment, there will be progressive steps to you and take you on a journey to consolidate ideas.

You will either propose your own project or be set a project directed from the tutor. In the past a set project by the tutor included focussing on one past master printmaker, and thereafter exploring the technique and picture making qualities, using this as a starting point.

A similar project will be proposed at the beginning of the term. There will be close guidance given to explore a variety of printmaking techniques and support will be given on a one to one basis and in group discussion.

You will be encouraged to visit galleries throughout the term and gain in depth knowledge of contemporary printmaking practices. You are also encouraged to learn from their peers and share experiences throughout the course. Finally a London gallery visit will be arranged to look at the work of current printmakers.

Refunds are not available on this booking. Start dates may be amended on request.
