About the Course
Having established my Gainsborough studio quite recently, I work in acrylics/ mixed media/ watercolours and inks. My art is influenced by the way I see life, people, nature, my environment...the list is long. Originally from Liverpool, I studied Fashion & Textiles at Manchester and went on to qualify as an Art teacher. I have been Head of Art at a preparatory school in Surrey and subsequently managed my own Art department in Nottinghamshire.
I regularly run workshops from my Art studio in Gainsborough.
In the 'Experimental Batik on Paper' workshop you will learn about the beauty and versatility of the medium.
Experiment making various marks with brushes and the traditional tjanting.
Explore many possibilities with dyes and melted wax on different qualities of paper.
Collage can be used to create different layers.
The batik pieces can be used in card making, art books and folders.
The working method is free and experimental.
The workshop is for those with little or no experience.
The classes are small ( no larger than 4) so you will have hands on tuition in a calming and relaxed atmosphere.
