Make Silver Clay Pieces & then Enamel onto the surface to add colour
Enamelling is an ancient craft and is the fusion of glass to metal.
Vitreous enamels are finely ground glass-like fine sand. The firing process simply melts them and fuses them to the metal surface
Create a piece of fine silver, using Silver Clay, designed especially to enamel – adding an extra dimension to your design.
When making silver jewellery to enamel it is important to think about the design of the piece and how you’d like the glass to enhance your silver, it might be in recesses or over textures, or simply as a small embellishment.
Toni, who is a registered PMC instructor, will be on hand to offer advice about finessing your pieces and firing. Once fired you will have a piece of fine, hallmarkable silver, which we will then apply and fuse the glass (enamel) to.
There will be an hours break from 13.00-14.00 for you to go and have lunch whilst we set up for the Enamelling
