Create a traditional linen sampler as a record of the new stitches you learn in this class, including chain stitch, back stitch, cross stitch, blanket stitch, stem stitch and Pekinese stitch.
Look at the stitch books and historical embroidery and add a few more of your own choice.
You can then return in April with your sampler for the Level 2 class where you can take your embroidery to the next level. Add intermediate and advanced embroidery stitches to your embroidery roll as a reference tool for what you have learnt.
NB the two classes are independent of each other and enrollment on both is not obligatory.
Taught by textile artist Helen Barnes.
