About the Course
This is a hand embroidery, slow stitching workshop for all those people who need to escape from their everyday chaotic life for a day and completely lose themselves in this addictive hobby. All designs and materials will be provided and you will be encouraged to create your own one off unique piece. Stitches can be as complicated as you want to make them but sometimes the simplest ones are the most effective.
This is suitable for a complete beginner or the more advanced embroiderer. You will choose from several different types of prepared backgrounds and will embellish your design with some carefully chosen words, buttons, lace and fabrics. At the end of the day you will take away a finished piece ready to frame (frames will be available to purchase on the day).
Julie has taught for over 30 years and is a total Stitchaholic!
All workshops and larger images can be viewed and booked through the website at the top of the page.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
All materials and tools are provided, including fabric, threads, paint etc .
There is parking and refreshments will be provided throughout the day. Please bring a packed lunch and sense of humour.

I attended Julie's Hares and Dragonflies workshop and am so pleased with my picture. I had a lovely day. Other than cross stitch, I have never attempted embroidery before so whilst I was slightly frustrated at my lack of dexterity and speed, the workshop has encouraged me to have a go at mastering some of the basic embroidery stitches. Julie's work is beautiful and I am inspired by what can be achieved. Thanks Julie, for your patience and kind tuition.
