About the Course
Explore traditional and Canadian smocking techniques for childrenswear and womenswear. Manipulate fabric, creating striking sculptural effects that can elevate a garment into a unique piece. The third in our series of embellishment technique courses. Basic sewing skills are required.
Trims and braids are often used purely as decoration on garments and accessories, but if you plan ahead, they can be turned into an integral part of the garment by incorporating them as part of the garment. You will learn how to use trims, inserts and appliques in stunningly creative ways, making them a part of your garments and accessories rather than just surface additions or edge finishes. This is the final course in our series of embellishment technique courses.
