Course Start DatesSaturday 25th January 2020
About the Course
A fun day exploring drypoint etching – all the lovely qualities of a traditional etching without the use of chemicals. After getting to grips with the basics you can experiment with layering plates, using collaged papers and doing jigsaw or composite prints… time to play, try things out and make a batch of samples in black& white and colour for future reference. We will be using water-soluble oil-based printing inks during the workshop. A structured but informal creative day with lots of demos, suitable for beginners and those wanting to expand their skills.
What to bring - HB pencil, rubber, scissors, glue stick, craft knife if you have one. Scrap paper for sketching & proofing. Any thin smooth papers you may want to use for collage. Kitchen roll, baby wipes, old clothes / apron, newspaper, gloves if you have skin allergies or don’t like getting messy! Inspiration / source material / sketches.
