About the Course
Have you ever wanted to make a lampshade to match your soft furnishings, or transform that piece of vintage fabric into something useful?
This relaxed and supportive 3 hour, afternoon workshop 1-4pm, introduces you to the simple techniques and tools required to make a basic 30cms drum lampshade (other sizes/heights available by prior arrangement). A range of attractive modern/vintage/African cotton print fabrics are available for you to choose from.
Or learn the craft of traditional soft lampshade making but with a contemporary twist! Make a 10" diameter bowed empire or scallop shade cover using machine and hand stitching techniques with modern fabrics and trimmings. The course is 6 hours with lunch included - cost £85.
You may wish to use left over furnishing fabric adding individual style to your room or create a fun look with contrasting colours.
I am a part-time Secondary School Teacher, teaching ages 11-18 in Crafts with 13 years experience and have a degree in 3D Design (Woods, Metals, Plastics). The courses are relaxed so you can work at your own pace with plenty of friendly support and guidance.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
